It is possible to download all content to your device, so when on site with limited connectivity, you will still have the information available. The first version of the Bollfilter App covers complete filters, spares and service with detailed data and infographics about installation, overhaul, identifying required spares details, FAQ’s, contact details and a host more.
The App is designed to be interactive with direct dial access from the “Meet the Team” sections so you can call or e-mail specific members of the team, improving communication simplicity. Just go to the “Meet the Team” pages, click on the person, look for the “contact me” button in the top right hand of the page and the option to call or e-mail is presented.
Throughout the App there are options to contact us with questions, request more information about spare parts, technical queries about installation or operation, requests for service/maintenance instructions, links to our website and our informative YouTube videos showing how the filters work.
In the Filters section there are exploded drawings of the 6.18 automatic water filter and the 6.64 automatic lube oil filter, giving a step-by-step illustrated guide to disassembling the filter in the correct manner, perfect for the plant maintenance team.
As the App is created to be useful to the operator, we welcome feedback from users telling us what they want to see in future versions.

Where a large amount of cooling or process water is re-used in open or closed circuits, the Bollfilter type 6.18 offers reliable filtration for those liquid distribution systems. We are talking; cooling water, potable water and waste water. These three types of water are ideal applications or this filter. Liquid filters must offer the operator at least three key benefits:
- Reliable day to day use without interruption and disruption, as a result ensures efficiency of the complete system.
- Precise liquid filtration to ensure a defined degree of purity once treated.
- Low maintenance with minimal operating costs resulting in little need for manual involvement.

The filter made for today’s operator
Continuously operating systems in remote areas, or plants without on-site staff are ideally suited to the Bollfilter due to the current trend of minimum manning. This is likely to continue and the reliability of the 6.18 is a must for operators of water filtration systems.
The 6.18 offers the operator many advantages over conical or expanding type filter elements. Featuring cylindrical filter elements open at both ends, with a throttling plate to develop turbulence, creating the scouring effect in backflushing. Technology that takes filtration to a new level.
Less operator costs in man-hours and spare parts because the effective backflushing continuously prevents filter element blockage. Lower dynamic stresses result in longer life over other types of filter element.
- More reliable separation of solids than conical or expanding elements. Original filter fineness is constant but that cannot be guaranteed with other types.
- Better cleaning when process water is contaminated by fibrous material.
- Special profile filter elements with longitudinal surfaces in direction of backflush have proven to be very effective in the pulp & paper industry with high fibre content. Also effective in the water treatment industry with weed & algae.
Design of the Bollfilter Automatic Type 6.18
Robust components make this water filter design a simple option for today’s filtration buyer or specifier, therefore suitable for many situations including these four applications:
- Potable water pre-screening, in water treatment plants.
- Final effluent recycling, in sewage treatment plants.
- Paper and pulp manufacture, for nozzle protection from process water contamination in paper mills.
- Cooling water filtration, in continuous casting and cooling nozzle spray bars in steel & aluminium making.
Filter body construction
The bearings and flushing bushes are made of high carbon Polytetrafluoroethylene better known as PTFE. The filter housing is made of ductile iron, fabricated carbon steel, stainless steel and super duplex steel. The filter elements and internals are made from stainless steel grade 316 or better as suits the application.
The only moving parts are the flushing arm, cover arm and the flushing bushes that are spring loaded to automatically adjust to wear.
Depending on the conditions of the system and characteristics of the liquids to be filtered a number of alternative options are available. The Bollfilter Automatic Type 6.18 is available in different sizes with connection diameters 50 to 1000 mm for flows up to 10,000 m3/h in a single unit.
