JSP Makes Face-Fitting Respirators Even Easier

JSP has launched its popular, lightweight Force 8 half-mask with new Press To Check™ P3 R D filters that enable the fit of the respirator to be checked in under 3 seconds with 3 simple steps:

1. Fit – don the mask
2. Press – squeeze the filters together to create a seal
3. Check – breathe in and feel the mask depress when an effective face fit is achieved, adjusting the mask if necessary.

PressToCheck™ P3 R D filters have extremely low breathing resistance.  Air flows fully across the hygienically enclosed, pleated filters which resist clogging in extreme fine dust environments.  They exceed the standard EN143 P3 requirements, also passing the enhanced “Dolomite” very fine dust test.  They are reusable and therefore are a cost effective solution compared to disposable FFP3 masks.

The HSE’s Information Sheet 36 on Construction Dust http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/cis36.pdf stipulates that respirators with an Assigned Protection Factor of 20 (ie P3 filtration levels) are required in construction and that the face-fitting of masks is a pre-requisite.
