Kraus & Naimer chosen supplier for multi-million pound upgrade of manufacturing plant in Lydney.
Glatfelter, global supplier and leading manufacturer of high quality printing papers, speciality papers and engineered and composite fibres, recently carried out a multi-million pound upgrade of their manufacturing plant in Lydney, Gloucestershire. Well known Lydney electrical contracts, J W Betty & Son Ltd were appointed as the electrical contractor for this upgrade. Part of the upgrade involved an area known as the “wet room”, so called because of the wash down processes and chemicals etc used in this area. Consequently a key criteria for the electrical equipment installed was the ability to withstand such treatment and for this J W Betty & Son Ltd turned to Kraus & Naimer. They chose to supply Kraus & Naimer switch-disconnectors selected from the extensive range of stainless steel enclosed switches that are available from stock from the Kraus & Naimer office in Newbury.
Director of the company, Joe Betty commented “ When we secured the contract our first thought was to contact Kraus & Naimer to see what they could offer. We have used Kraus & Naimer extensively in the past and have always been impressed by the quality of the switchgear they supply. The superior performance offered by their grade 316L, IP66 rated stainless steel enclosure was perfectly suited to the requirements of the “wet room” environment. Not only that, we prefer using Kraus & Naimer because they design their enclosed switches with the installer in mind, providing sufficient space in the enclosure to make wiring much easier. The final clincher was the range of switches and enclosure sizes they were able to offer. Physical restrictions in the wet room meant we had to cater for longer than usual cable runs and the team at Kraus & Naimer were able to provide us with suitably sized switches and enclosures to accommodate the necessary cabling”.
