Malton Laser speeds ahead with production of key parts for Ginetta race cars

Full service sheet metalwork manufacturer, Malton Laser, has supplied Yorkshire-based racing car manufacturer, Ginetta, with a series of bespoke components that form part of its G40 and G55 sports cars.

As a preferred supplier of Ginetta, Malton Laser was recently selected to produce more than 900 laser cut plates to form part of the structure of its G55 GT4 and G55 GT3 race cars, which compete throughout the summer months in various championships.

The sheet metalwork manufacturer has also created kits of parts to assist the vehicle’s revised suspension systems, all assembled by Malton Laser’s expert fabrication team.

Daniel Shaw, Supply Chain Manager at Ginetta, said: “Having worked with Malton Laser for more than 10 years, we know the team can manufacture high profile applications and perform in terms of cost, quality and delivery time-after-time.

“The parts required for the G55’s are very specific and need to be made to a precise specification. The Malton Laser team not only has the expertise to manufacture these components in high volumes, but also to an unrivalled standard.

“Malton Laser’s full service in-house offering is great for us in terms of value-for-money, elevated levels of consistency and quick turnaround times – I’d highly recommend the company’s services.”

Ginetta started working with Malton Laser in 2007 and regularly tasks the metalwork specialist with manufacturing a range of parts for its race cars, the majority of which are laser cut using a revolutionary Bystronic Bystar 3015 6KW machine. Up to three-times faster than the standard CO2 laser cutting systems, this new technology has enabled the team to complete projects more efficiently than ever before, without compromising on the quality of the finished product.

Charles Corner, Managing Director of Malton Laser, said: “As a leading supplier of full service sheet metalwork services and with more than 16 years’ experience, we have the industry knowledge and ability to offer innovative metal cutting, pressing and fabricating services, to ensure customers’ needs and expectations are met.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Ginetta and have worked on numerous projects over the years to meet with its metalwork requirements. As a racing enthusiast myself, working on the projects for Ginetta allows me to combine work with my favourite hobby, which is great.
