New Infographic helps packaging engineers understand the advantages of bentonite clay based desiccants

Packaging engineers responsible for ensuring the quality and shelf life of packaged products from the damaging effects of moisture have several choices when it comes to desiccants.  Clariant’s new Infographic helps engineers understand the advantages of using a natural mineral such as bentonite clay based desiccants for their packaging applications.

Bentonite clay, the principal ingredient in Clariant Desi Pak® desiccants, is a highly adsorbent, chemically inert material comprised of calcium montmorillonite. It is an abundant, naturally occurring substance that can be mined and produced in many areas of the world. It requires no chemical additives and, once mined, requires only limited processing (extrusion, drying, grading) prior to use.
