Anti-Kinking Spirals ‘KSS’
Hose assemblies are stressed by frequent and severe bending whilst in daily operation. The main bending area is at the joint end. The use of anti-kinking spirals ‘KSS’ protects the hose assemblies from kinking – and extends the service life without restricting hose exibility.
ANTI-KINKING SPIRALS ‘KSS’
‘KSS’ of black HDPE material can be used with all Elaflex rubber hoses – as well as universal hoses with thermo- plastic linings such as types UTS/UTD, FEP and PTFE.
The anti-kinking spiral is attached with Spannloc clamps ‘SC … KSS’ of stainless steel.
It can be combined with all kinds of hose tails.
Self-assembling is possible.

ANTI-KINKING SPIRALS ‘KSS-FX’
‘KSS-FX’ of black HDPE will be used for the Fluorflex 2 FXD universal helical hose. The anti-kinking spiral is directly attached to the Standard Fluorflex clamps ‘FX-SC…SS’ (stainless steel AISI 316).
The Fluroflex clamps are securely and rigidly mounted to the Fluorflex hose tail.
Self-assembling is possible.

ANTI-KINKING SPIRAL ‘KSS-SD’
‘KSS-SD’ of stainless steel AISI 301 can be recommen- ded for hot steam hose assemblies with steel braids. These hose assemblies are subject to higher wear. The main stress area for hose assemblies is also at the joint end.
The assembly is carried out with hot steam clamps such as ‘SC19x7KSS’. Only safety fittings with collar and bolted clamps, suitable for re-tightening according to EN 14423 will be used.
Self-assembling is possible.

ANTI-KINKING SPIRAL ‘KSS-HB’
‘KSS-HB’ (stainless steel AISI 301) can be used to pro- tect hot bitumen hoses for overextension at the highly stressed area directly behind the coupling.
The assembly is carried out with Spannloc clamps ‘SC … KSS’ of stainless steel. Due to the KSS-HB a longer service life of hot bitumen hoses can be achieved.

USE OF KSS IN EX ZONES
All anti-kinking spirals from Ela ex can be used without any problem in EX zones 1 and 2. The use of HDPE types ‘KSS’ and ‘KSS-FX’ has been con rmed by the PTB.
