We were presented with a challenge where the customer required a fast response leak tight shut off 11/2″ valve for controlling water at a steel plant.

Additional requirements valve would be in a hazardous area which required sensing when the valve was closed and in the event of a power failure the ability to open the valve.

Working with the customer solution offered MK40 valve / response time 520 milliseconds opening / proximity switch fitted giving feedback, and knowledge valve was closed / robust manual override giving secure opening / being used in a zone 2 category 3 environment with terminal box fitted and nonstandard 115vac voltage.
