Reduce the Risk Of Pollutants Accessing Your Drainage System
Pollution incidents associated with run-off from spills and or fire water accessing surface water drains and then accessing the wider environment are well documented, as are the fines and penalties imposed by the UK Environment Agencies. Systems available to combat this range from simple response measures such as drain covers right up to interceptor systems which normally involve some form of civil engineering which can be disruptive and costly.New to the UK market is Safe Drain™ a device designed to work with any size of surface water drain irrespective of type:
- Round
- Square
- Gulley
- Curb
Safe Drain™ is simple install and quick and easy to operate and its scalable filtration system can be selected to address any pollution capture needs such as:
- Sediment
- Oils
- Metals etc

Case study
Pollution incidents associated with run-off from the de/anti-icing of aircraft are well documented and airfields and airports have over recent years implemented a range of measures to minimise the impact caused to the environment when the process takes place.
Safe Drain™ systems are successfully being used on airfields and at airports around the world with one particular example being in Germany where a lake which for the last 100 years had been used for ice skating during the winter months failed to freeze over even though other bodies of water in the area had frozen over. Investigations found that the lake had been contaminated with de/anti-icing product from the local airfield and this was found to be directly attributable to failed systems on site.
After a full site survey Safe Drain™ systems were installed in multiple drains allowing the airfield implement a complete site “lock-down” as and when required to completely contain any run-off and the lake is now back to being the place to go for ice skating during the winter.
