Top UK safety consultancy’s global growth leads to new business

A North East England-based safety consultancy business has proved so successful internationally that it is now establishing a new company to cope with its growth and to help meet demand for its specialist training services.

ProSalus is one of the UK’s only independent technical safety consultancies which specialises in the implementation and compliance of process and functional safety standards working in sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical, fine chemicals, power, waste management and foodstuffs.

Now, thanks to the increasing worldwide demand for its highly-accredited training services, the team behind ProSalus’s success have established EFSTAS- Easton Functional Safety Training and Services.

This specialist business will provide internationally-accredited process and functional safety training all over the world working with individuals, course promoters, major blue chip companies and industrial organisations.

ProSalus has a reputation spanning 15 years- working with multi-nationals such as Shell, BP, GlaxoSmithKline, Scottish Power, National Grid, Marathon Oil, Ineos, British Gas and Total- and has developed a range of software tools designed to help companies comply with process and functional safety standards and legislation.

ProSalus was established by Colin and Carol Easton, from Stokesley in North Yorkshire, and now employs a team of six safety engineers and two support staff as well as a number of associates who deliver the courses in countries including the USA, Australia and Singapore as well as throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle and Far East.

ProSalus’s and EFSTAS’s team of safety engineers have decades of experience in the process sector.

Speaking about establishing the new business, managing director, Colin Easton, said: “What we offer is incredibly niche but it is in huge demand as accreditations and regulations become ever more necessary in the process industry in order to demonstrate competency. Thanks to our reputation and experience, we are able to continually grow and the time is now right to set up a separate company dedicated to our independent safety competency training programmes some of which are accredited by TUV Rheinland- one of the best in the sector- which help people all over the world excel in their industries and careers.”
