Absolute hygiene in stainless steel

Two new sensor series in miniature stainless steel housing: Leuze has developed the 53C and 55C series especially for hygiene-sensitive production and packaging processes.

Leuze has developed sensors that are ideally suited for hygiene-sensitive production and packaging processes. The sensor housing is made of high-quality, particularly smooth V4A stainless steel and the optics cover is glass-free and scratch-resistant therefore the sensors can withstand demanding cleaning and disinfection cycles as well as large temperature fluctuations.

Versions are available to reliably detect glass, PET, film, small parts or even the fill level of aqueous liquids. The new 53C and 55C sensor series are dust-proof, waterproof and meet the requirements of protection classes IP67, IP68 and IP69K and can be configured and maintained via IO-Link.

For wet areas, Leuze has developed the 55C series in a Wash-Down design where the optics and operational controls are made of non-diffusive and chemically-stable materials. The 53C series is suitable for particularly hygiene-sensitive areas with direct contact with food or for installation above unpackaged products. The housing is designed with smooth contours to prevent bacterial contamination and without fastening holes prevent deposits.
