The Cygnus 6+ unit is designed for the Engineer who needs to take quick, accurate thickness measurements. This hand-held UT thickness gauge is perfect for testing levels of wear and corrosion on a vast array of industrial machinery, factory infrastructure, boiler tubes and pressure vessels. This gauge has been rigorously tested to military specification; drops from height (onto concrete), extreme vibrations, extremes of heat and cold will all be shrugged off by the unit – which is also completely environmentally sealed to IPX7 (water) and IP6X (dust).
And while the Cygnus 6+ has been specifically designed to be easy to operate, it has an excellent array of key features including: versatile measuring modes (multiple-echo, single-echo and echo-echo modes are all contained in just one unit); an A-scan display that helps to verify true back wall readings; and the unique Measurement Stability Indicator (MSI™) which verifies stable and reliable readings.
The Cygnus 6+ also shines with its’ highly capable data logging capabilities. As industries around the globe pay more and more attention to structural health monitoring, recording information (and reporting on it) effortlessly has never been so important. To that end, the Cygnus 6+ thickness gauge has an intuitive and easy to use data-logging facility which allows the Engineer to easily set up bespoke templates for recording measurements. The unit benefits from a very neat “micro-gridding” feature to investigate and provide detail on areas of interest; and also stores up to 500,000 readings (with their A-scans). As for reporting, the information that has been recorded (logged) can be pushed in to Cygnus’ easy to use software – and a pdf report produced at the click of a button. Data is transferred by Bluetooth®, cable or by removing the SD card.
The Cygnus 6+ has a large colour LCD display that can be viewed in all lighting conditions, an easy to use keypad and an intuitive menu. The gauge body has been designed to be comfortable to hold and protects against bumps whilst offering maximum strength with its hard internal shell.
