Industry experts to speak on hot ethical topics at Professional Clothing Show
Three prestigious industry speakers will share their expertise, insights and passion for hot ethical, social and environmental topics, such as Fairtrade cotton, closed loop recycling and sustainable procurement, immediately after the first ‘Pro Show Live’ catwalk show on both days of the Professional Clothing Show. Estimated retail sales of Fairtrade products in 2013 reached £1.78 billion, a 14% increase on 2012. Sharing the latest on Fairtrade cotton, Clare will highlight the importance of understanding and managing the social and environment impacts of your products, outlining good business reasons for switching to Fairtrade cotton and aligning your brand with Fairtrade’s dynamic movement for change.

Dutch fashion designer and sustainable entrepreneur Rien Otto will be sharing news on the launch of the European innovation project on fully recyclable workwear, EcoPro Fabrics. This pilot project will focus on significantly reducing the environmental impact of textile production.

The Fair Wear Foundation will be launching the ‘Well Made’ procurement project , which gives those working in European clothing companies the tools to understand the major labour issues that they have influence over, and how they can support better conditions.
