Productivity and Downtime Hot Topics at Automation University

Global industrial automation solutions provider Rockwell Automation is to hold its inaugural event in Aberdeen, aimed at bringing together key players in the energy sector to look at maximising process productivity and reducing downtime.

Automation University On The Move, which takes place at the Aberdeen Treetops Hotel on Tuesday, June 10, offers multiple hands-on labs, live demos, seminars and industry sessions – bringing together solutions and specialists. One such session will be in conjunction with Aker Solutions and will look closely at subsea technologies – notably how the increasing complexity of subsea solutions is driving new control and communication solutions deep underwater.

The event features many of Rockwell Automation’s partners and a large central exhibition area, where visitors can see products and technologies brought to life.

Some of the areas of focus at the all day event include pump optimisation, safety and control systems, addressing cyber security and maintaining and updating obsolete control systems.

Martin Walder at Rockwell Automation, said: “Automation University On The Move has been running successfully for five years now, but this will be first time we have run the event in Aberdeen.

“The main focus of the event in Aberdeen will be on the energy sector, looking at ways in which organisations can maximise productivity while reducing downtime, particularly on ageing assets.”

The event is free of charge. Around 100 people are expected to attend, with high demand for places so anyone wishing to visit the show is encouraged to register their interest early at www.rockwellautomation.co.uk

A multinational company with customers in more than 80 countries, Rockwell Automation employs around 21,000 staff across the world, specialising in process control, process safety, power management and process information systems and services designed to give clients a competitive advantage.

Since committing to the UK oil and gas sector through the acquisition of previously established automation businesses, ICS Triplex and Silvertech, Rockwell Automation continues to strengthen its position with its PlantPAx process automation system, Allen Bradley and ICS Triplex product lines.

Automation University On The Move will also be taking place in Nottingham, Peterborough and Warrington.
