Teknomek extends range of ready to use cupboards- Sets the standard for hygienic design
Hygienic furniture specialist Teknomek has extended its cupboard range, all developed with risk management in mind. The fully welded, ready to use units deliver GMP standard by eliminating trap points from every angle and support.
Sue Springett, Teknomek’s commercial manager, explains: “Hygiene best practice dictates that every piece of furniture is regularly and thoroughly cleaned down. The longer each item takes to clean, the greater the risk that a trap point is missed with an associated risk in a microbe count alert.
“If an item is fiddly or prevents easy access, the total cost of ownership simply grows with each passing year. Intelligent hygienic design reduces risk and improves cleaning efficiencies; this thinking guides the development of all our products – the latest cupboards are a great case in point.”
The key upgrades are:
- Ground clearance raised to 300mm, improving accessibility to clean the base and floor beneath.
- The base has straight edges on three sides to reduce the risk of harbourage and speed up clean down.
- Sloping top to prevent dust from settling or water pooling.
- Four adjustable stainless steel feet with rubber base for perfect balance
- The inside of each cupboard from the shelves to the door are designed for easy cleaning
- The 304 stainless steel is finish 0.5 Ra Ųm, ISO Clean Room Grade 5 compliant
- 316 grade stainless steel options available for harsher sterilisation routines
The cupboard range now includes drawer units, vented doors and wire shelving options, which complement the open, solid and mesh door models already available. Designed and manufactured in the UK, each cupboard is supplied fully welded, enabling a quick installation.
