The new Leuze RFID readers for ease of use in both production and logistics stand out with their compact design, reading ranges of up to 100 mm, flexible mounting options and IO-Link.

If you want to reliably track every step in automated production lines and logistics, you need powerful, robust sensor technology that is as compact as possible. Leuze presents its new RFID readers that fully fulfill these requirements: The devices in the RDH 100 and RDH 200 series operate in the high-frequency range. They stand out for their reading ranges of up to 100 mm, compact design and flexible mounting options. The devices have an IO-Link interface for straightforward, fast integration. In addition, the RFID readers operate down to -32°C making them suitable for deep-freeze warehouse applications.

RDH 100: Compact and robust

Where space is tight in manufacturing environments, production cells or assembly workstations, an RFID reader from the RDH 100 series is the ideal solution. The cylindrical RDH 100 reader has a diameter of just 30 millimeters, allowing it to fit into the smallest of gaps. The RFID reader detects transponders with pinpoint accuracy and a reading range of 60 millimeters. It has a very robust design: The metal barrel version (M30 x 1.5) offers optimum mechanical protection against external influences and a high level of ingress protection (IP 67). This allows the reader to be used in different areas – even harsh environments such as machine tools and machining centers for metallic components.

RDH 200: NFC functionality included

The RDH 200 series is suitable for NFC applications too: The readers can also be used for authentication on machines via NFC tags, for example. The RDH 200 series offers a large reading range of up to 100 millimeters – yet the devices are also extremely compact (68 x 68 x 42 millimeters). This allows them to be used flexibly in production control and assembly. Practical installation: The back of the device is designed as a mounting plate. This enables flexible, quick installation and provides particularly good accessibility. The plate also allows it to be mounted directly on metallic surfaces.
