West Control Solutions’ CAL Thermostats enhance plant efficiency

West Control Solutions has launched the CAL Thermostats family, a range of easy-to-use temperature thermostats that improve performance and efficiency for food and beverage manufacturers. With a simple menu and a compact, high ingress protection-rated casing, CAL Thermostats offer precision monitoring of temperatures within ovens, fryers and refrigerators.

The CAL ET2011 is an easily programmable standard thermostat for heating control, with a timer and a 4-digit display. A simple panel clamp enables quick installation and release, while a range of input options for thermistors, thermocouples or PT100 offers operational flexibility. Automatic, ‘self-tuning’ calculation of PID parameters, soft-start and the option to program relay output as alarm or control output all add to the flexibility and efficiency of the unit.

For applications where defrost is required, the CAL EDT2423 offers a different output for defrost or fan control and an option for an external digital input to trigger defrost. The device supports different defrost cycles: compressor shutdown, electric defrost or heat generation defrost. Easy set-up is enabled via CAL key, a flash memory key that allows configuration settings to be copied from a master device to any further devices that share the same configuration, saving time and maximising precision measurement throughout the plant. An RS485 option is available for monitoring and reporting, while a real-time clock displays the cycle required.

The CAL thermostat range provides a family of instruments to meet all thermostat requirements, with a simple, aesthetically-pleasing design featuring a large display that is ideal for non-industrial applications.
