When three pumps are better than one

Engineers at Wanner have designed a high flow rate skid that incorporates three of the Company’s Hydra-Cell G35 pumps operating in parallel.

The system can pump up to 420 litres per minute at 83 bar pressure or up to 200 litres per minute at 100 bar pressure. Installing three Hydra-Cell pumps means three times the flow as they are true positive displacement pumps. This is not the case in a centrifugal pump system. With Hydra-Cell pumps the flow is maintained but the friction losses manifest themselves in increased system pressure.

Portability key to success of oil in water analyser

Quantitech first launched the InfraCal 2, a portable oil in water analyser, in 2013 and the company’s Dr Andrew Hobson says: “There has been a heavy demand for this instrument in the oil sector because of the new functionality that now comes as standard. The InfraCal 2 can now be operated from an internal battery and also provides lower detection limits. However, the original InfraCal was not able to store multiple calibrations or to log readings, so the latest instrument can be more independent, making it better suited to remote operation. We are therefore hoping that it will also become popular in a wider range of other manufacturing and processing industries, including wastewater and fracking.”

Financing Critical Power Solutions Using C-PaaS

EcoPowerSupplies has launched a new way for datacentres to invest in uninterruptible power supplies and protect their operations from a worsening UK electrical supply grid. Standing for ‘Critical Power as a Service’, the C-PaaS model allows organisations to spread the cost of power protection investments including UPS systems and standby power generators over a fixed term.

Optional maintenance costs, future battery replacements and system upgrades can also be included, in addition to any initial project and electrical installation works.
